Ah, there you are. Come closer. There’s a place for you by the fire.
Once, a little lantern lived at the edge of a very large forest. Every evening, she watched the stars appear, and wished she could shine as brightly as they did.
One misty night, a small fox stopped beneath her light. He had been walking for hours, and could no longer see the path home.
The lantern gathered her little glow. Just enough to light one stone. Then another. And another.
When the fox reached his door, he turned and called, “Thank you. I thought I was alone out there.”
The lantern looked up at the stars. They were beautiful, as always. But for the first time, she didn’t wish to be one.
She settled into her own warm light. And somewhere in the forest, a small fox slept soundly. Take your time, little Spark. The fire will keep us company.
